About me

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or simply finding that something doesn't feel quite right, counselling can offer a space to pause, understand what's happening and begin to make sense of things.

I'm Charlotte, an integrative counsellor offering face-to-face counselling in Solihull and online throughout the UK. I work with adults and young adults (18+) across a range of experiences, including anxiety, stress and burnout, grief and loss, relationships, self-esteem and confidence, life transitions and trauma.

I believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel safe, heard and genuinely understood. A space where you don't need to have the right words, hold everything together or worry about being judged.

As an integrative counsellor, I don't believe therapy should follow a set formula. I get to know you as a person and tailor our work to your individual experiences and needs. Together, we can explore what is happening for you, make sense of your experiences and consider what might help you move forward, always at a pace that feels right for you.

The relationship we build together is at the heart of my practice. Feeling genuinely heard, understood and accepted can create the space for meaningful change.

You don't need to have a diagnosis, be at breaking point or know exactly where to begin. Perhaps you simply want to understand yourself more deeply,  make sense of what you're experiencing, or explore something that doesn't feel quite right.

Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to have all the answers before you begin. We can start wherever you are and explore at your pace.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a First Class BA (Hons) in Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship from the University of Warwick and I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My practice is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework, and I am committed to offering counselling that is safe, ethical and grounded in respect for every individual.

My integrative training allows me to draw from different therapeutic approaches and adapt our work to your individual needs, while remaining grounded in a person-centred and relational way of working

Alongside my degree, my qualifications include:

  • Working with Survivors of Sexual Abuse (OCN Level 3)
  • Counselling Skills (NCFE Level 3)
  • Counselling Skills (NCFE Level 2)
  • Safeguarding Adults and Children (Level 2)

My practice is trauma-informed, shaped by over five years of experience supporting survivors of sexual abuse. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how trauma and difficult experiences can shape the way we think, feel, relate to others and experience the world around us. You don't need to have experienced trauma to work with me; this perspective simply informs the compassionate and thoughtful way I approach our work.

Working in this trauma-informed way has formed an important part of the perspective I bring to my wider counselling practice. I know that healing doesn't follow a timeline, that's why working at your pace is so important to me. Every person's experience is different, and I believe therapy should move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

I continue to develop my knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development, reflection and learning, ensuring my practice remains ethical, thoughtful and responsive.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Never had counselling before? That's completely okay.

You don't need to prepare anything for your first session or know exactly what you want to talk about. We can begin by talking about what has brought you to counselling and what you would like from the experience. From there, we'll take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Before arranging your first session, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This is simply an opportunity to talk, ask any questions you may have and get a sense of whether we might be the right fit to work together. There is no pressure or obligation to continue.

If we decide to work together, I'll provide you with some information about counselling and what you can expect before your first session.

I offer both face-to-face counselling from a private therapy room in Solihull and secure online counselling for adults throughout the UK.
