About me
I am a BACP Registered Counsellor with over 10 years of experience supporting adults, young people and children in my private practice, in schools and in corporate settings.
I offer individual counselling in-person at my counselling room near Matfield (Kent) and/or online, depending on your preference and needs. I can offer either daytime or evening sessions.
My core model of Counselling is Psychodynamic *, however, I adopt a more integrative approach, drawing from different models of counselling so that I can tailor the work to you as an individual (such as Person-Centred and CBT). My focus is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can speak freely and comfortably, without fear of judgement. I aim to offer a friendly and contained environment that supports openness and trust.
(* Psychodynamic counselling helps you explore how past experiences may be shaping your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours today. By gently uncovering patterns that might be outside your awareness, it can lead to greater self-understanding and lasting emotional change.)
I provide an initial session with no obligation to continue, giving you the opportunity to get a feel for how I work and decide whether I’m the right Counsellor for you. If I believe a different approach might better suit your needs, I’m happy to offer recommendations.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from The Counselling Centre in Tunbridge Wells (BACP Accredited), where I also spent several years working as a volunteer Counsellor following my training.
Over the past decade, I’ve gained extensive experience working with both adults and children in a variety of settings. I have worked for AXA Health, providing counselling support to corporate clients, and I’ve spent over seven years with Place2Be, offering therapeutic support to children and young people aged 5–18 in schools across Kent and Sussex.
Alongside my private practice, I currently work as a Tutor for Place2Be, delivering the Level 4 CPCAB Diploma in Counselling for Children in Schools.
I am also qualified in online counselling, having completed specialist training with ACTO, and I work in accordance with BACP’s guidelines for online therapy.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
