About me

Charlotte Tipping.
Pronouns: She/Her

Just be yourself. Easy? Not really. Who am I? Am I enough? Is there something wrong with me? Am I normal? Is this as good as it gets? Can they see through me? Am I good person?

These questions often lurk behind the smiles and Facebook/Instagram statuses. Searching for the answers can keep us awake at 2am or motivate us to act in ways that deep down we don’t feel comfortable with.

‘Just be yourself’! We are often told but many people have lost a sense of self and are torn between acting on impulse in the moment or functioning robotically each day responding to the needs and desires of others.

In my practice, I offer a relaxed and safe environment where people can explore their internal world with curiosity. A space where you and I meet as equals. I will not try and tell you what to do however I do want you to have every opportunity to make changes in your life that fit with your values and dreams.

I am an experienced therapist of 7 years and have worked with people struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood and depression. Self esteem, low self worth, and social anxiety. I have also experience of working with bereavement and loss and coping with change and expressing anger.

I believe that we can often get stuck in repeated patterns of behaviour in our lives which can cause great stress, anxiety and confusion to us and others. Working together I can help you understand yourself better and therefore bring more peace and simplicity to life.

I have experience working with children, young people and adults. I have worked with children who have autism, ADHD and dyslexia. I enjoy working with and learning about Neurodiversity and work also with adults who have ADHD and Tourettes and autism.

I like to work with people to overcome barriers to communication and sometimes use art, music and movement in session to enable them to express with confidence what the person wants to say to me.

If you are coming to work with me I offer a genuine down to earth approach with kindness, empathy, honesty and fun. Because even in the darkness times of our lives I believe laughter can be found. Somewhere.

I am looking forward to meet you

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
