About me
My name is Charlotte and I am a fully qualified counsellor with years of experience working with all ages from teens to the elderly.
Seeking help can be very daunting, especially if you are stressed, feeling anxious, lonely, depressed, in low mood or unable to cope with the way you are feeling? Are you struggling with the emotional trauma from an adoption? a relationship breakdown? abuse? deceit? grieving for a loved one? or simply just struggling day to day? if the answer is yes to any of these questions, you are not alone and I would love to help you.
I offer a free 15 minute initial assessment, which can be over the telephone or online, to see how you would feel about working with me. This is with no obligation to continue if you do not feel that it is right for you.
As your counsellor I would work in a non-judgemental, non-opinionated and empathic way. We would build a therapeutic relationship built on trust and we would work at your pace in a safe and confidential environment.
I really hope to hear from you soon.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified CPCAB Person-Centred Counsellor and trained trauma specialist. I am also a specialist trained and qualified Adult Adoption Counsellor (over 18 years only) and I am an adoptee myself.
I work with adults, teens and children over the age of 11 (secondary school) and I hold a Disclosure Barring Service Certificate (DBS).
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their ethical guidelines in my practice.
I am fully insured and a member of the ICO.
As well as working in private practice, face-to-face, online and on the telephone, I have also worked in a secondary school as an in house School Counsellor and also volunteered long term for a local charity supporting survivors of sexual violence, domestic abuse and trauma.
My counselling skills and knowledge is constantly updated by my participation in Continued Professional Development Workshops (CPD).
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
