About me
I am an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist/counsellor working with adults of all ages. My practice is in Weybridge and East Molesey, where I currently see clients in person. I also offer remote sessions (online or phone).
What I can offer you is a safe therapeutic space in which to explore and make sense of your experiences, thoughts and feelings. I will support you, at your own pace, on your journey towards a better understanding of yourself and whatever might be going on for you. Having a psychodynamic approach, I will be mindful of how your past experiences may influence your current patterns of thinking, feeling and in relating to others.
I have experience of working with clients with a variety of issues including for example; anxiety, depression, physical disability, speech difficulties, trauma, loneliness, loss and bereavement.
The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of what I do and I regard it very important for you to find the 'right fit'. As a rule, I will view our first 3 sessions as a way for us both to work out whether we might be the right fit for each other and there is no obligation to commit to further sessions during this period.
I offer short term, long term and open ended counselling.
Training, qualifications & experience
MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy at Birkbeck; London Universities.
BSc (Hons) in Psychology at Birkbeck; London Universities.
Alongside running my own private practice, I also work at two community counselling charity settings (Wimbledon Guild and Basingstoke Counselling Service) where I see clients from all walks of life. There I also undertake initial assessments, often with clients who have never had counselling before and may feel unsure.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
Please email me to arrange a free 15 minute phone call when we can figure out whether we may be a right fit to work together. This is not a counselling session, but an opportunity to either decide on booking an initial consultation together or for me to guide you on where you might find someone else who can better help.

I am also a partner in 'The Practice', where you will find my profile page under the East Molesey section.
