About me

It all starts with a hello...

Welcome, I’m Charlotte and I’m an experienced Registered Relational Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist in addition to a Psychosexual & GSRD Relationship Therapist (in-training). • Kink, BDSM & Fetish
  • Problematic/Distressing Porn Use & Other Compulsive Sexual Behaviours

About me & my way of working:

My way of working is "Relational" which means that I place a great importance on creating a secure therapeutic relationship and stable base with my clients in order to understand your needs and promote healing of emotional wounds. This is based upon the premise that the quality of our emotional health is often reflective of and somewhat dependant on our wider relationship health. My work is also "Integrative" and "Pluralistic" which means that I am flexible in my approach and therefore I can tailor the work to you and your preferences by integrating theory and techniques from different approaches of psychotherapy which best suit you and the concerns we are working with. I work collaboratively with my clients and my approach is mainly informed by Psychodynamic, Existential and Humanistic Therapy, although I also incorporate elements from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT); Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

I am a Trauma-Informed therapist and understand the impact that trauma can have on building trust, emotional regulation and daily functioning. My background and extensive postgraduate education in Psychology and beyond allows me to bring psycho-education and biology into our work to help you to understand what may be happening on a psychological and physiological level and how we can work with this to help you feel more in control of what you may be experiencing.

I am a multi-cultural and bi-lingual therapist and welcome diversity in my practice. I am fluent in Spanish, however at this moment in time I am only delivering sessions in English language.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
