About me

I am offering face-to-face and online therapy.  I am happy to see you on a long-term basis or short-term time limited more focused work.

I offer a safe and confidential space to explore life's challenges. I believe that however difficult things may feel, with a regular, non-judgemental, empathic space to explore difficult feelings, things can feel better again. I am here to listen and help you make sense of why you might be feeling the way you are. Together we can work it through in a way that enables fresh perspectives and perhaps a new understanding of you. Counselling is not about giving you solutions or advice but empowering you to make your own changes that are right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an integrative psychotherapist meaning that I draw on many different theories and ideas within my work including person-centred, humanistic, existential, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural concepts.

My qualifications include: MA Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling; PGDip Counselling and Psychotherapy; BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing.

I have experience of working with people with a range of difficulties. These include depression, anxiety, bereavement, eating disorders, relationship troubles, post-traumatic stress, low self-esteem/self-confidence, women's issues, stress, abuse. I have a particular interest and experience of working with women with post-natal depression and an interest in the emotional aspects of perimenopause/menopause.  I work with adults and children (aged 13+).  I work on a long term basis or with short term contracts.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
