About me
I am a BACP registered and experienced counsellor and clinical supervisor offering both short and long term counselling to adults, children (8+) and young people. My practice is in a quiet location in Walton-on-Thames and offers a safe and welcoming space for you to explore your current difficulties.
I work with adults, children and young people experiencing a range of difficulties such as stress, anxiety, low mood, identity, grief and loss. I have a special interest in perinatal mental health, the parent-infant relationship and supporting parents with the transition to parenthood and beyond. I work with both mums and dads experiencing difficulties such as postnatal depression, postnatal anxiety, birth trauma and the psychological adjustment to becoming a mum or dad.
I have also undertaken additional training in supporting parents following baby loss and have experience in supporting women with preparing for a subsequent pregnancy following a birth trauma or baby loss.
I have worked as a school counsellor for a leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support interventions to help improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, families, teachers and school staff. I have experience working in primary and secondary schools offering talking therapy, creative and play therapy to students struggling with a range of difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, exam stress, gender and identity, low self-esteem and relationship struggles with family and friends.
Prior to training as a counsellor I worked in Human Resources providing HR consultancy, training, coaching, mentoring, mediation and career counselling within the voluntary and higher education sector. I believe that my combined experience as an HR professional and a counsellor offers a unique experience in supporting you and your wellbeing.
I draw upon a range of models in my work, including psychodynamic, developmental psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy, coaching and attachment theory. I also offer play therapy and creative techniques when working with children and young people. My style is warm, empathic and collaborative with the aim of providing a compassionate and containing space for my clients.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
