About me
I’m Ceri, an experienced psychodynamic counsellor working from my practice in the centre of Cheltenham and online.
You may be considering counselling for many different reasons. Perhaps you are going through, or have been through, a difficult time and want support in understanding what is happening and how it is affecting your life. You may also feel curious about yourself, your relationships, and the ways you respond to different situations, with a desire to develop greater self-awareness. Whatever brings you to counselling, all parts of your experience are welcome.
I understand that choosing a counsellor and reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially when other aspects of life may feel uncertain or overwhelming. At the heart of my practice is creating a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you are invited to speak freely, without judgement or expectation.
As our conversations develop, we may begin to explore patterns in how you relate to yourself and to others, alongside the experiences that have shaped you over time. Together, we can reflect on what feels difficult in the present and consider what may need to change moving forward.
Through this process, new perspectives can emerge. Feelings, beliefs, or ways of coping that once felt fixed may begin to loosen, creating the possibility for greater understanding, choice, and emotional freedom.
If what you have read feels meaningful to you, I encourage you to make contact. You do not need to have everything worked out to begin.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
Initial Session (50 mins)
If you’d like to get in touch, we can arrange an initial 50-minute session. This is an opportunity to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain, and for you to get a sense of how I work. The fee for this session is £55.
If we both feel it is a good fit, we can then discuss how to proceed, which would typically involve weekly sessions at a regular time each week.
Ongoing Sessions (50 mins)
Regular weekly sessions are usually scheduled at the same time each week to provide consistency and support. It’s natural not to know exactly how many sessions you’ll need or how long you’ll want to continue at the start. You will have an active role in shaping the pace of the counselling, and together we will regularly review your progress and discuss how you feel about the work. The fee for each session is £55.
Confidentiality
It’s important to me that you feel safe and comfortable to speak openly about what matters to you. All counselling sessions are confidential, and I follow the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions to ensure your privacy and trust are fully respected.
