About me
Hi, I’m Celia - it’s really nice to meet you.
Perhaps you’ve spent years in an exhausting cycle of people-pleasing and self-sacrificing - always putting everyone else first. On the outside you might find yourself masking and appearing to cope perfectly, but inside you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck, or maybe you're experiencing relationship difficulties as a result. Whether you are carrying anxiety, depression, or grief, you might be wondering why certain patterns keep repeating or why life feels harder than it used to.
Counselling offers a confidential space to pause, reflect, explore and find clarity. As your counsellor, I will work alongside you without judgement, helping you gain new insights, build resilience, and find a way forward that feels right for you. I am integratively trained, meaning I tailor our sessions to your individual needs.
While my background spans all ages, I am currently focusing on supporting adults and young adults aged 16 and over. As part of this work, I have a special interest in adult ADHD. Whether you are diagnosed or not, we will work together to understand your unique profile, reconnect with your strengths, and collaboratively explore tailored management strategies. My goal is to help you build a fulfilling life where you can truly be yourself - where you no longer have to mould your life for others, or feel like you simply don't fit in.
What I love most about my work is the diversity of experience, and I am always keen to try and support people if I can. Whilst I have specific areas of interest, my primary focus is always on tailoring our sessions to your unique life situation and goals. Our work together will always be underpinned by empathy, respect, and a strong therapeutic relationship
Take good care,
Celia
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an integratively trained counsellor, which means I draw from multiple therapeutic approaches to tailor my sessions completely to your individual needs. I have over 20 years’ experience supporting children, young people, and adults, including 10 years working dedicatedly within the mental health sector. Following my initial qualification, I completed additional specialist youth counselling training to enhance my work with younger clients.
Furthermore, I hold a specialist Adult ADHD+ certification completed at The Grove with Dr James Kustow, a leading UK expert in the field. This advanced training equips me to work collaboratively with both diagnosed and undiagnosed neurodivergent adults, helping them understand their unique profile and develop effective, personalised management strategies.
My commitment to ongoing professional development includes specialised training with Langley Training in supporting individuals navigating the impacts of narcissism, coercive control, and domestic abuse. I have also completed advanced training in complicated grief with NScience in London. Additionally, I completed the Foundation in Sandtray Therapy with Ruth Baker in Devon, allowing me to offer creative, non-verbal ways of exploring and processing complex emotions.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
