About me
I am a qualified counsellor with over 20 years experience. Counselling offers you the support system that allows you to speak in whatever way you need to in order to find healing, and I provide a safe space to be able to speak your truth without being interrupted, judged or dismissed.
Counselling can help everyone to improve their daily lives. It can be hard sifting through your emotions on your own, so having that person there who will support you, to understand your feelings and gain some clarity around your emotions and feelings, can help you and the process.
Deciding to see a counsellor is itself an act of bravery, as it can be difficult to talk to strangers about your struggles, especially if you feel as though they are unimportant in the larger scheme of life.
My approach is person-centred, placing you at the centre of the sessions. We will look at what you can do, not your condition and support you to achieve your aspirations.
My experience is extensive, and during my counselling career I have set up and managed a voluntary youth counselling service supporting ages 11 to 25yr olds. Working with young people to find relief from problems and distress, and to help promote the well-being of those seeking help.
I have also been supporting the LGBTQ+ community via The Black Trans Foundation, and I am on the Gendered Intelligence directory of counsellors. I completed a 2-day counsellor/therapist course: Working alongside Trans, Gender Diverse and Questioning People through the Gendered Intelligence training programme. I am continuing to develop my work in this area, and I am a dedicated ally to this community. Having strong personal ties through my friendship groups and being involved in various activities. I have seen over the years the difficulty faced by black people and trans people, particularly the black trans community, and because of this, I have had the pleasure in supporting The Black Trans Foundation and those who are accessing this therapy.
I also work for an online children's organisation providing anonymous support for Children and Young people.
I can provide both short-term and longer-term work.
My private sessions are 50 minutes, which will generally be on the same day and time each week, but this can be flexible too.
I can accommodate clients who are shift-workers and changes to sessions due to changes to their rota. These will be agreed in advance.
Appointments are available in-person, by telephone or via Zoom

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
