About me

Hello there,

I am an ACAT accredited and UKCP registered Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist who facilitates a therapeutic space for people to connect with difficulties, internal conflicts and unease.

As a psychotherapist, I am influenced by a range of psychoanalytic theories and art. As a Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist I bring tools and ideas grounded in CAT theory to offer a tangible understanding of your therapeutic journey of self-discovery.

In our work together, we move towards recognising the roles we take on, where they might come from and the impact they have on our relationship with ourselves and others today. These roles and their impact is also explored 'live' in the therapeutic relationship too. Disclosure: CAT can be quite a confronting yet a liberating therapy!

In longer term CAT, we create space and opportunities to identify where changes in our usual ways of relating may be possible.

I believe it takes strength and courage to acknowledge when we have a need that is unmet. Then, to reach out for help, to try and seek someone who might be able to support us involves a leap of faith. Therapy can feel uncomfortable and painfuly confronting at times, I will take time to listen to you and balance your needs and wellbeing at the forefront of our work together.

If any of what I shared here feels relevant for you, email to arrange a free phone consultation and we can take it from there. I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My journey as a therapist began when I completed an introductory course in Group Analysis to support my role as a staff nurse in a therapeutic community based in a medium secure forensic unit. While continuing to work full time as mental health nurse I began training as a Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner.

In 2020 I qualified as a Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Practitioner and continued training as a psychotherapist. In 2025 I received  accreditation as a Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist and shortly afterwards joined the UK Council of Psychotherapists.

If helpful, here's a list of some of the areas I am experienced in working with:

  • Bereavement, and any loss associated with life and transitions.
  • The variety of impacts from exposure to relational trauma from a parent, sibling and/or partner struggling with addiction.
  • Mother and daughter relationship issues influenced by different belief systems, i.e. values, culture, religion/faith.
  • Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN) and emotional abandonment.
  • Attachment issues.
  • Biracial heritage.
  • Intergenerational trauma.
  • Body issues, feelings of inferiority.
  • Intellectualising life; disconnected from body sensations and feelings.
  • Low self-confidence, low self-esteem and low self-worth.
  • Sex and sexuality.
