About me

Hi, I'm Cat, a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience of working with adults experiencing emotional distress, across a range of psychological therapy services and healthcare settings.

I am committed to providing a safe, compassionate and collaborative space to support a greater understanding of emotional struggles, including debilitating episodes of depression and/ or anxiety, and develop ways to move forwards again.

In my practice, I am able to draw on a range of therapeutic models to tailor therapy to the unique needs and goals of each individual. For any therapy to be effective it needs to be rooted in a strong therapeutic relationship built on warmth, empathy, non-judgement and trust. This is at the heart of my practice.

I am flexible in offering short or long term therapy based on individual needs, preferences and finances.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience of working across a wide range of NHS services with adults, older people, people with learning disabilities and children and young people. The majority of my experience and further training has been in working with over 18s to provide psychological therapy for a range of mental health difficulties, either in person or online.

I am passionate about neurodiversity-affirming therapy and have experience of working with autistic adults.  I have specialist training in the Autism Diagnosis Observation Schedule (ADOS), an assessment tool used in diagnosing autism spectrum disorder.

I wrote my doctoral thesis on the factors involved in women seeking help from health professionals for perinatal mental health difficulties and have an interest in working with perinatal depression.
