About me
Hi, I'm Cat, a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience of working with adults experiencing emotional distress, across a range of psychological therapy services and healthcare settings.
I am committed to providing a safe, compassionate and collaborative space to support a greater understanding of emotional struggles, including debilitating episodes of depression and/ or anxiety, and develop ways to move forwards again.
In my practice, I am able to draw on a range of therapeutic models to tailor therapy to the unique needs and goals of each individual. At the heart of my practice is a belief in establishing a strong, non-judgemental, compassionate and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
I am flexible in offering short or long term therapy based on individual needs, preferences and finances.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience of working across a wide range of NHS services with adults, older people, people with learning disabilities and children and young people.
I am especially passionate about neurodiversity-affirmative therapy and working with autistic and ADHD adults to understand both the very real strengths and challenges and develop greater compassion and acceptance in their lives.
I have specialist training in the Autism Diagnosis Observation Schedule (ADOS), an assessment tool used in diagnosing autism spectrum disorder.
I wrote my doctoral thesis on the factors involved in women seeking help from health professionals for perinatal mental health difficulties and have an interest in working with perinatal depression.
