About me

The world in which we live challenges us every day in ways that may seem irrational or impossible to understand. Feelings of anxiety, depression, low self esteem, family issues, anger, trauma and loneliness are all these aspects of life that can become truly overwhelming at times. I successfully work with all these problems and more. Working with me should help you feel less lost or alone and help you to work on your problems and ease your anxiety or pain.

Together we can navigate your world, explore your thoughts and delve deep into the root cause of your emotions. We can work together in a confidential, non-judgmental environment supporting you in every step of your journey no matter how long it takes. I can give you tasks and assessments to do to focus on the problem, such as severe anxiety or anger issues. Asking for support is one of the most challenging moments you can take in your healing process, and taking this first step is already an incredible achievement. Therapy allows for a safe space where you are heard, valued and can become your true self.

I work with neurodiversity; with clients who have ADHD and are on the autistic spectrum. I offer a safe space to explore the issues that come alongside neurodiversity and how to navigate life because of it. I recognise that in autism there are differences in female-led perspectives, ethnic minorities and LGBTQIA+ inclusivity.

I also am LGBTQIA+ inclusive and have particular experience working with Trans clients and dealing with the constant worries of the stigma of being trans, especially due to ti the recent EHRC guidelines.

Having suffered from chronic illness myself - chronic illness, disease and pain are something I specialise in. It is important to have support at your times of suffering and also after the trauma of the illness / surgery. You are not alone in suffering this way and I can offer you a safe space to talk about it and come to terms with the reality of living with long term illness or chronic fatigue.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am Neuroinclusive and have a lot of experience with clients who have ADHD and or / are on the autistic spectrum.

I am LGBTQIA+ inclusive and have experience working with Trans and Queer clients.

I have had excellent success with clients using talking therapy and CBT exercises to help with all types of anxiety.

I also specialise in the area of chronic pain, chronic fatigue and illness. I understand how this affects not just the body but the mind and how difficult it is to cope with this kind of illness. I also understand how trauma and PTSD can lead to pain and disability.
