About me
People experience things in different ways, and therapy can be a space to talk things through and make sense of what is happening together.
Background
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist and qualified Youth Worker, with 20 years’ experience working alongside children, young people, adults, and older adults across community, wellbeing, and primary care settings. I am from a from a mixed dairy farm and still have active roll supporting the running of the farm. Growing up on a farm taught me a lot about life. Looking after animals showed me the importance of patience, responsibility, and understanding that every living thing has different needs. It also taught me that trust can’t be rushed and by being present and consistent can make a real difference. Those lessons have shaped the way I relate to people and why I’m drawn to supporting others through difficult times.
How I work
My approach draws on psychodynamic, existential, CBT, ACT, CFT, and person-centred thinking. I work with what each person brings, rather than a fixed way of working.
People come to therapy for different reasons and use it in different ways - to talk things through, to make sense of experiences, or to think about what feels important to them.
Walk & Talk and Animal Assisted Therapy
Alongside talking therapy, I offer nature-based and animal-assisted work for those who prefer to meet outdoors or alongside animals.
Neurodiversity
I work in a neurodiversity-affirming way and have experience across a wide range of life experiences, with an interest in understanding each person in their own context.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
