About me

Hi, I'm Caroline - an experienced integrative therapist working with individuals, couples and organisations. My style is supportive yet challenging, allowing you to explore and grow at your own pace. I look forward to meeting you.

How I can help

I offer supportive, impactful solutions to help you meet your personal and professional goals. Depending on what best suits your needs we may work together long-term or decide on a short course of sessions, exploring both practical solutions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and the deeper reasons behind your current thoughts and feelings.

Who is therapy for?

Whilst there is still an unnecessary stigma attached to therapy, there is nothing wiser or braver than investing in your mental health, just as you would your physical health. Whether you’re an individual with something on your mind, a couple looking to improve your relationship or simply burnt out with the pressure of modern living, therapy is a useful tool for meeting your goals as well as gaining perspective and clarity of mind.

Issues I work with include but are not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Identity Issues
  • Bereavement
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Issues with sex & sexuality
  • Relationship issues

What to expect in your first session

The first session is a chance for us to get to know one another a little, explore what is happening for you and talk about how we might be able to work together to support you. My aim is always to ensure you get the best solution available, so if we decide we need to point you in another direction that is certainly something I can assist you with. If we choose to move forward together, we will discuss what this might look like as well as logistics such as frequency and timings.

Training, qualifications & experience

Before undertaking therapy training, I worked in a number of corporate roles in Central London and Hertfordshire, and so I work with a first-hand understanding of the stresses and strains of modern working life.  As well as one to one and couples therapy, I also offer workshops for businesses to help employees cope with work-related stress and anxiety.

I hold the following qualifications and memberships:

  • Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
  • MA & PGDip in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regent's University
  • MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
