About me
I am a qualified therapist and counsellor working with adults and young people aged 13 and over. I am fully insured with Holistic Insurers and an accredited member of the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society), a professional body that upholds high ethical standards.
I have extensive experience supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, domestic abuse, and sexual abuse, as well as a long history of working with families who have faced significant adversity. I am trained in and regularly work with anxiety, depression, panic, grief, relationship difficulties, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and many other emotional and psychological challenges.
I work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to suit each individual’s needs. These include person-centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, narrative exposure therapy, and attachment-based approaches. This flexible way of working allows therapy to be tailored to you, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
I am passionate about building strong, trusting therapeutic relationships where clients feel comfortable, heard, and understood. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever may be causing you difficulties, while also developing greater self-awareness to support personal growth and change. I welcome anyone who is considering therapy.
Within our work together, I will share practical strategies and ideas to help you cope with difficult emotions and experiences, supporting you to feel more in control of your life and the direction you want it to take.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified as a therapist in 2019 and have worked as a full time therapist since.
I had my work placement hours working within a charity (WAVES counselling project) that supports adults who have experienced domestic abuse and with another service (Jigsaw post abuse service) supporting children, young people and their families that had experienced sexual abuse.
Since qualifying I have been employed by Jigsaw to continue providing therapy for children in care, care leavers and children and young people who have experienced abuse. I have also been working with a charity (FirstLight) providing therapy for adults and young people, mainly online, who have experienced abuse.
I have also had consistent private clients and have returning clients regularly.
Previous to this I worked for 13 years, within social care working with children in care and families on child protection, providing support and guidance to parents and working alongside social workers and other professionals in safeguarding.
