About me

Hello and thank you for visiting my profile. I am guessing you are curious to explore and potentially find someone who can help with how you are currently feeling.

I provide a supportive, empathic, non-judgemental, safe space for you to explore your feelings, challenges and aspirations.  Together, we will set meaningful goals and develop ways to address your concerns to foster your personal growth, whilst also allowing you to set the pace and direction of our sessions.

What my clients say

My clients tell me that my warmth and empathy allows them to feel comfortable to open up.  They feel that I am part of the work - being alongside them - and that I'm able to pick up on important things that perhaps they weren't aware of.

Our relationship

It can be daunting to choose a counsellor and I am very aware that this can feel overwhelming. I strongly believe that it is about our relationship that we develop and the importance for you to feel comfortable and that I am the right fit for you.

Perhaps you are finding your current circumstances and relationships challenging? Are you grappling with difficult emotions like depression, anxiety, or anger? Perhaps past or present experiences are holding you back or undermining your self-esteem? Maybe you are struggling with a relationship breakdown or betrayal and are looking for a way to cope with this separation and adjustment.  Or maybe you just feel a general sense of dissatisfaction, that something is ‘not quite right’?  These are things that together, we can explore.

How I work

As an integrative-relational counsellor, I use a variety of approaches to find the best fit for you. Most importantly, I work collaboratively, offering a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and supportive relationship where you can explore your situation and feelings with me.

I believe this process can lead to greater self-understanding and acceptance, providing insight into how past experiences may influence your present. This understanding can foster self-belief and enable you to make changes, move forward, and become more fully ‘you’. While confronting painful feelings can be tough, I believe the healing and growth that comes from working through them can be significantly fulfilling and healing.

My methods may include focusing on your daily experiences, understanding how past events have shaped your current self, or trying out new ways of thinking and interacting with yourself and others.

Free, no-obligation call

I offer a free no-obligation 20 minute call for you to get a feel of me and whether I am the right fit for you.

I provide both in-person and online sessions, offering short-term (six to twelve weeks) and longer-term therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a BA (Hons) in Integrative-Relational Counselling and have experience working in an NHS setting as an in-house counsellor. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellor & Psychotherapists) and adhere to the code of ethics.

Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked in corporate business for 20+ years and understand the pressures that this working environment can bring and the difficulties of finding and maintaining that healthy work-life balance.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
