About me
I offer online or face to face counselling (in Weston-super-Mare). I work from a Pluralistic, mainly Person Centred approach, also drawing from Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis theories.
I believe that you have the tools and resources available to you to make the changes you want, and together we can uncover and draw from these resources to develop your own personal tool box. I aim to offer a working relationship to help you access these tools, without judgement, to help you work through specific problems. Or, perhaps you are unsure of what the real problems are, but feel something is “off” or missing in your life- together we can work to resolve and overcome the challenges you face, to help live the life that you want.
I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and have experience working with adults, older teens and older adults. I have worked with people experiencing a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, bereavement and grief, self-harm, gender transition, self-defeating behaviours, boundaries and assertiveness, PTSD/CPTSD, impacts of significant health issues, and relationship, work or family problems.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over 20 years experience working with people in a helping capacity, including Therapeutic Counselling and Arts Education to help others think creatively to develop confidence, problem-solve, focus, reflect, and make changes. I believe that creativity and experimentation can bring joy, connect us to our bodies, offer restoration and are important for our self-discovery, self-expression, resilience and growth. I can offer creative therapy practice to suit you.
