About me

I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard and accepted just as you are. Rather than telling you what to do, I can help you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace so you can build confidence, clarity, and self-trust. My approach is based on empathy, honesty, and respect, creating a safe environment where real change can happen naturally. Whether you’re dealing with stress, relationships, identity, or simply feeling stuck, I can empower you to find your own answers and grow in a way that can last.

My support is shaped around you — not a one-size-fits-all method. By drawing from a range of proven therapeutic approaches, I can adapt sessions to suit your unique personality, experiences, and goals, whether you need practical coping strategies, space to talk things through, or deeper self-understanding.

Experience

School Counsellor working with students aged 16–18 on behalf of a therapeutic organisation, I provide one-to-one, student-centred support within an educational setting, offering a safe and confidential space for young people to explore a range of emotional and psychological challenges. My role includes working with issues such as anxiety, low mood, depression, self-esteem, identity development, eating disorders, ADHD, and Autism, adapting my approach to meet diverse neurodevelopmental and mental health needs. I carry out risk assessments and follow robust safeguarding procedures, including responding appropriately to disclosures of self-harm and liaising with designated safeguarding leads and external agencies when necessary. Through collaborative goal-setting, psychoeducation, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions, I support students to build resilience, emotional regulation skills, and greater self-awareness, while maintaining accurate records and adhering to professional and ethical frameworks.

I currently provide low-cost counselling for a local charity recognised as Best Community Counselling Charity 2025, increasing access to therapeutic support for individuals who may otherwise face financial barriers to mental health services. Within this role, I deliver compassionate, evidence-based counselling to clients presenting with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and life transitions. I work ethically and collaboratively, managing risk appropriately, and maintaining clear professional boundaries while creating a safe and inclusive space for clients from diverse backgrounds. This experience reflects my commitment to social inclusion, community wellbeing, and making high-quality mental health support accessible to those in need.

As a Volunteer at a local hospice, I provided compassionate, person-centred support to patients and their families during end-of-life care. My role involves offering a calm and reassuring presence, listening empathetically to relatives, and helping to create a comfortable and dignified environment for their loved ones. I support families by providing practical assistance when needed, and working alongside medical staff to ensure holistic care is maintained. This experience allows me to respond to emotional distress with empathy and professionalism, and remain composed in highly sensitive situations while respecting confidentiality.

In private practice, I deliver ethical, client-centred counselling tailored to individual needs, working with a broad range of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, identity exploration, relationship difficulties, and neurodiversity. I conduct thorough assessments, collaboratively set therapeutic goals, and integrate evidence-based approaches to support meaningful change. My practice is grounded in strong therapeutic alliance building, maintaining clear boundaries, and upholding confidentiality in line with professional and ethical frameworks. I am experienced in risk assessment and safeguarding procedures, maintaining accurate clinical records, and engaging in regular supervision and continuing professional development to ensure safe, reflective, and effective practice.

I offer a free 20 minute consultation to make sure I can provide the support that you require.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am qualified to Level 5 as an integrative counsellor which means that I can tailor our sessions to suit the type of therapy you wish to receive. Some people  like to be challenged , others just want a confidential place to talk and others like to set goals and meet particular challenges.

I work in several modalities including person-centred, psychodynamic and  cognitive behavioural therapy.

It is my belief that anyone can make small changes to improve their lives and it is my privilege to support you to do this, hopefully helping you to navigate the situation that might be troubling you.
