About me

I am an experienced and qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and I work with adults over 18. I offer a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space for you to talk through your difficulties. I believe everyone has the right to feel heard and I aim to work alongside you and empower you to be the version of yourself you want to be. I believe that by developing a secure relationship, we can work together to understand and address some of your difficulties in order for you to feel more confident, gain self-awareness and feel more able to cope.

I have experience working with depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties and adjustment amongst other things. I also have further training and experience working with people who are autistic or ADHD. You may have a diagnosis, are self-diagnosed, or you may be in the process of exploring this and would like a space to reflect on it further and how it impacts you. I can offer a non-judgmental and accepting space to explore and reflect on this.

We would work together in a way that feels right for you, I will give you the space to bring what you feel you need to each session, whilst also considering you, your relationships, and your life as a whole to try and make sense of the current difficulties. I will gently challenge you if it’s appropriate and I invite you to share with me if you would like things to be different. It’s important we can both be honest and open with each other.

Currently, I am working online in the UK and offer short and long-term counselling. If you would like to discuss your options, or are unsure, please feel free to contact me to discuss things further. I will aim to get back to you within 48 hours.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
