About us

I offer therapeutic methods from different perspectives, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt and Psychodynamic. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have recently completed my Designated Safeguarding Lead training (Level 3).

Currently, I offer therapy in the forms of face-to-face, telephone and via video-call. I offer counselling on a one-to-one basis, as well as in a group setting. I offer therapy to adults, young people and families.

I have significant experience working with PTSD, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. Some of my main values are being non-judgemental, remaining open-minded and always offering empathy. Therapy can be daunting for a lot of people, and I aim to make individuals feel as comfortable as possible.

Training, qualifications & experience

I worked in a bereavement service for several years and worked closely with multiple families/individuals. Death is one of life’s certainties, yet it never gets any easier. When someone passes away, we will never forget them. However, for other’s it can be more difficult to return to “normal life” and that is where I come into the equation.

I have worked as an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Counsellor, for a large organisation, offering support to masses of individuals, all over the UK. I did this role remotely and got to meet some amazing people.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

So, am I the therapist for you?

I am willing to offer counselling to adults, young people, and families.

I believe I am an adaptable person, who will try my best to help anyone reach their full potential. If you suffer from anxiety/depression, are feeling lost within the world or just need someone to speak to, please get in touch.

Initially, it may seem scary speaking to a stranger, but I can honestly say, therapy can be life changing. I have witnessed that with my own eyes and that is the reason, I do what I do.

Professional Standards

I attend monthly supervision sessions; the purpose of supervision is to observe my practice. Monthly sessions allow me to work conscientiously and in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.
