About me

How I work
I help people to make sense of significant change, particularly where this affects relationships, grief and family life.

Many of my clients are used to holding things together for everyone else until the emotional strain starts to show. This may look like anxiety, stress or burnout, relationship difficulties, grief, or struggling to adjust to change.

Alongside a particular interest in bereavement, I work with people navigating relationship breakdown, separation and divorce, family change and major life transitions.

My approach is relational, collaborative and grounded. Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what is happening, and explore what you need. When words feel limited, I may also draw on creative or body-based approaches if these feel helpful.

About my practice
I work from a private therapy room in Cirencester, offering in-person sessions across Gloucestershire, West Oxfordshire and Wiltshire, as well as online.

Background
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in professional and educational settings. This gave me an appreciation of the pressures that can arise when balancing responsibility, performance, family life and personal wellbeing.

My interest in relationships and communication also led me to train as a family mediator, and I continue to develop this area of my practice alongside further specialist training in counselling and psychotherapy with children and young people.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist working integratively. This means that I draw on a range of approaches, including CBT, humanistic, psychodynamic, creative and mindfulness and body-based interventions, depending on individual needs.

Training includes:

  • Counselling and psychotherapy (integrative approach, MSc level, BACP accredited)
  • PG Cert Creative Education
  • Bereavement, grief and loss
  • Relationship and communication work
  • Clay therapy and clay conversations
  • Qigong teacher training certification from the Shiatsu College London
  • Family mediation (trained and working towards FMC accreditation)
  • Ongoing Level 5 training in therapeutic work with children and young people

I have experience supporting adults with grief, anxiety, stress, burnout, depression, relationship difficulties and life transitions, in-person and online.

My work spans private practice, community counselling and specialist bereavement support, and I am experienced in providing both time limited (6 - 10 sessions) and open ended therapy.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I offer a space where things don’t have to be figured out straight away.

Much of my work is with people who are used to coping and holding things together, but are beginning to feel overwhelmed or disconnected underneath.

Alongside talking, I draw on creative and body-based approaches where helpful, offering a different way in when words feel limited.
