About me

Some things are difficult to say out loud — often hardest of all to the people closest to us.

If you are carrying something you can't quite name, or living with feelings that don't seem to have an obvious cause, you don't need to have it worked out before you get in touch. Not knowing what is wrong is one of the most common reasons people begin.

I offer a calm, confidential space where you can speak freely and be heard without judgement. As a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, I believe that many of our emotional difficulties have deeper roots that lie outside our immediate awareness. Psychoanalytic therapy provides a space to explore these unconscious patterns, helping you understand how past experiences may continue to influence your present relationships, emotions, and choices.

Rather than offering quick solutions, this approach aims to create lasting change through deeper self-understanding. Therapy is tailored to your individual needs and can be short-term, focused on a specific difficulty, or longer-term for those seeking more profound personal growth.

Life can feel confusing, heavy, or draining, and at times those feelings become intense enough that ordinary days take real effort. There is rarely a single clear cause. Distress can follow a difficult decision, a question about who you are or what your life is for, a loss, or an experience that has never quite been put into words. However it shows up, it is worth taking seriously.

What people often come with

  • Anxiety, depression, or fluctuating mood
  • Difficulties in relationships or sexuality
  • Questions of identity, self-worth, or purpose
  • Eating difficulties
  • Sleep problems and insomnia
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Periods of upheaval — migration, displacement, or the loss of a familiar life

Feelings that often bring people here

  • Stress, panic, or restlessness
  • Fear and anger
  • Confusion or helplessness
  • Shyness or embarrassment
  • Guilt, jealousy, or envy
  • Sadness and grief

Making contact can feel like a large step. It usually is. But it is also the point at which something starts to move — the decision that this is worth understanding rather than only enduring.

Psychoanalysis is an in-depth way of working, concerned less with managing symptoms than with what lies beneath them. It is also more flexible than people expect: some come for a defined piece of work over several months, others for a longer process of self-discovery and change.

We would begin with an initial meeting to talk about what has brought you, and to see whether working together feels right to you.
