About me

As a human, I believe there is something deeply powerful about being seen and witnessed — not as we think we should be, but as we actually are.

Life can leave us feeling lonely, forgotten or invisible. Sometimes there are things we carry that haven’t had anywhere to go, or feelings that have felt too difficult to say out loud.

I believe counselling can offer a place for those things to be acknowledged. A space where you can bring your pain, uncertainty, anger, sadness, confusion — whatever is there — and be met with compassion rather than judgement.

How I work and my approach

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different types of counselling, depending on what feels most helpful for you. I use a blend of approaches, including:

  • Psychodynamic, which explores our past and how it can influence us today.
  • Humanistic, which provides a supportive space to better understand yourself.
  • Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
  • Creative approaches, particularly when feelings are difficult to put into words.

How I might be able to help

I see counselling as a collaborative process. Rather than telling you what to do, I'll work alongside you, helping you make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Together, we can explore the stories you hold about yourself, the beliefs you've picked up along the way, and the patterns that may no longer be serving you, at a pace that feels right for you.

Alongside empathy and a non-judgmental space, I also believe there is room for humour, creativity and gentle challenge. Counselling doesn't always have to feel heavy. Sometimes moments of lightness can help us see things differently and open up new possibilities for change.

Getting in touch

Whether you're coming to counselling feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, or simply curious, you're welcome here.

I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call. If you’d like to have a conversation about starting counselling, I’d be glad to hear from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
