About me

Approaching therapy can be a frightening decision but going through difficult moments in life alone may be even worse.

You might be feeling hurt or uncertain about what is happening. There may be specific patterns of behaviour that come up that you do not understand or simply you might feel adrift, angry or anxious, struggling with the challenges you are facing. I aim to make therapy a place for you to come and really look at what is going on, so together we can begin to see things from a new angle.

I aim to make therapy a place for you to come and really look at what is going on, so together we can begin to see things from a new angle. My training and practice informs me primarily to be curious and take courage from this process, and it is with this attitude that I invite you here. From there we can begin to have compassion for the parts of us that leave us confused, hurt or isolated.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at one of Europe’s foremost institutes, the Minster Centre.

Integrative psychotherapy means that no one way is the right way. I believe each client calls for a unique therapy and so I work individually with the client in front of me and the relationship that we build together. I have been trained in psychodynamic, humanistic, body and relational modalities. I use these to help you find a more grounded and whole life that works for you.

I work through the lens of our various intersectionalities, understanding that the body is the source of emotion, power and powerlessness, and is co-regulated via another.

I have worked with clients who have experienced anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, change of identity, self-esteem issues, trauma, anger, shame, bullying, abuse, sexuality issues, sex/intimacy issues, loss/bereavement and separation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
