About me

Current availability online or telephone for adults.

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist based in the UK and registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I currently have availability for online/video or telephone sessions on a Monday, Tuesday, or Friday between 9 and 5pm, and a limited number of evening sessions on a Tuesday, or Thursday.

I can offer a free introductory phone call prior to booking a full session which provides an opportunity to ask any questions and get a feel for my style of working. There is no obligation to proceed following this call. If interest please get in touch.

I have experience in helping clients with relationships, stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, family conflicts, & coping with grief and loss. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I am an integrative therapist which means I draw on different ideas and methods depending on the needs and preferences of each person. I have an interactive approach that encourages self exploration and self compassion. I know that sometimes life can feel hard to navigate and we can all struggle to cope with difficult emotions, unwanted thoughts or painful relationship experiences. I believe that whatever the presenting issue is, every person has it in them to find their way to a calmer, happier and more fulfilling life. I am here to carefully support my clients through hard times and to help each person find the best path to reach their goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at Leeds Beckett University and Leeds University. I have over 15 years of experience supporting a diverse range of people with many different issues (5 years as a therapist and 12 years as a support worker).

Relevant Qualifications:

  • PG Diploma Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • PG Cert Interpersonal and Counselling Skills
  • BA Hons Sociology and Philosophy

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
