About me
Are you a high-functioning but exhausted mother struggling with the juggle and looking for a therapist to support you with your mental health? Are you a new mum navigating the identity shifts of early motherhood? Are you returning to work after maternity leave and feeling overwhelmed by the change and transition? Are you in perimenopause and looking for therapy to help with anxiety, depression or relationship difficulties?
Do you need help with low self-esteem or improving your confidence? Are you struggling with anxiety or depression? Are looking to explore aspects of your mental health in a supportive therapeutic space? Or do you need some help processing trauma and making sense of your own early childhood experiences and family issues?
You’re not alone — I understand what you're going through. I’m Belinda Gidman-Rowse (MNCPS Acc.), an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in East Devon. I work with women navigating major life transitions, especially around pregnancy, early motherhood, and menopause, offering a warm, compassionate space where you can be truly seen and heard.
I have lived experience of motherhood myself, as well as professional experience of working with mums, new parents and children in my work for PANDAS (Perinatal Mental Health charity), Place2Be (UK's leading children's mental health charity) and in the community sector in Australia.
I offer person-centered, integrative counselling that values you as a whole person — your emotions, experience, relationships and life story. My approach draws from: Person-Centred Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS Therapy) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have experience working with a wide range of mental health challenges including: anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, bereavement, family issues, impacts of domestic abuse, GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder), Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Eating Disorders (Bulimia and Anorexia) and more.
Together we explore what matters to you, build understanding, and support you to make meaningful, sustainable change. I work in a way that feels safe, respectful and collaborative.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call so you can get a feel for therapy and ask any questions before booking, or you can dive straight in and book a first appointment. I hold in-person sessions in East Devon, online counselling across the UK and Europe. I also offer Walk & Talk therapy if being outdoors feels more supportive, and if you're a new mum then you can bring your baby too.
I hold a Master of Counselling & Psychotherapy, and I’m an Accredited Registrant Member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Acc.) with regular supervision and ongoing professional development.
If you’re ready to feel stronger, calmer and more confident through life’s transitions, please get in touch via phone, email or book your introductory call today.
