About me
I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor offering in-person sessions in Sandyford and online.
I aim to provide you with a thoughtful, containing and non-judgemental space to explore not only what is happening for you, but why. My work is grounded in a psychodynamic and relational approach, informed by the belief that each person is shaped by their life experiences and brings their own strengths and challenges. I do not work with diagnostic labels or symptom lists, instead tailoring the work to you as an individual.
Therapy begins by exploring what has brought you to seek support and developing a shared understanding of your life story. Together, we make connections between past experiences, attachment patterns and present-day difficulties, including what emerges within the therapeutic relationship. I work collaboratively, offering choice and supporting you to shape the direction of our work.
Starting this journey can feel like a big step, so you're welcome to just get in touch with any questions or to arrange a free 15-minute initial consultation to see whether working together feels right.
Training, qualifications & experience
My work is rooted in Transactional Analysis, helping us understand patterns in thoughts, feelings, and relationships. I also draw on attachment theory and psychodynamic and person-centred approaches, exploring experiences deeply while keeping the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work.
I'm a qualified as Psychotherapeutic counsellor and I also hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework, ensuring that the therapy I offer is both safe and professional.
I have worked in the NHS and the charity sector supporting clients with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. I also have a particular interest in working with attachment issues, codependency, and narcissistic patterns, whether you're navigating the effects of these dynamics or seeking to better understand your own relational style.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
