About me

I'm Barry, a qualified therapeutic counsellor based in Tuffley, Gloucester. I offer a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can explore difficult emotions, experiences, or patterns in your life.

I understand first hand how overwhelming it can feel to reach out for help, and my role is to walk alongside you at your pace. I'd describe myself as a warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth counsellor.

How I Work:

I work integratively, which means I draw on different counselling approaches depending on your needs and I adapt to what works best for each client, because I know from personal experience that counselling is never one size fits all.

I support adults and young people facing challenges such as:

  • Anxiety & Panic.
  • Depression & Low mood
  • Trauma & Abuse
  • Low self-esteem, low self-worth & Imposter syndrome
  • Life changes, loss, or relationship difficulties

Sessions are available in person at 2&6 Therapy Rooms Tuffley or online, giving you flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable.

My Approach:

Compassionate, collaborative & relaxed: You are the expert on your own life, I provide guidance and support, not direction. In other words, I won't be telling you what you should and shouldn't be doing.

Evidence based: I use proven therapeutic approaches, adapted to your situation.

Professional & accountable: I operate with integrity, transparency, and commitment to ethical practice.

Next Steps:

If you're considering counselling, the first step can feel daunting. I offer an initial phone call, free of charge, so you can ask questions and see if working together feels right for you. You can book that call by clicking 'Book intro call' at the top of my page. Alternatively, you can also email me by clicking 'Email me'.

*If you call me directly, please leave me a voicemail as I am likely to be in a session.
