Clinical Psychologist, Schema Therapist, Post-grad Dip,

About me

I have been a qualified Chartered Clinical Psychologist for over 18 years and have over 30 years experience of working in mental health. I am a Certified Schema Therapist and have been using this modality for eight years. I  also work integratively with other modalities including CBT and and principles from psychodynamic and other therapeutic disciplines. I can provide therapy for issues surrounding anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, work challenges, low self-esteem, bullying, exam and school stress, eating disorders, addiction, alcohol misuse, personality disorder, neurodivergency and many other presenting difficulties. I enjoy working with transitional periods of life, whether it be a new stage of parenting, school, work, retirement or a change or crisis within a relationship. I am passionate about people learning to maximise their potential and learning to thrive, building a narrative on resilience, post traumatic growth and hope.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been qualified as a Clinical Psychologist (DClin Psychol) for over 18 years and have over 30 years of experience of working in mental health across teenagers, adults and older adults. I have also worked with homeless populations (as a project worker and a manager), and for the NHS, councils, schools and for counselling and learning disability charities. I am a Certified Schema Therapist and my other qualifications include a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA Hons), and a post-graduate diploma in management. In addition, I have attended many short-term mental health courses.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
