About me
I have been a qualified Chartered Clinical Psychologist for over 16 years and have over 25 years experience of working in mental health. I can provide therapy for issues surrounding anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, work challenges, low self-esteem, bullying, exam and school stress, eating disorders, addiction, alcohol misuse, personality disorder, neurodivergency and many other presenting difficulties. I enjoy working with transitional periods of lives, whether it be a new stage of parenting, school, work, retirement or a change or crisis within a relationship. I work integratively using CBT, Schema Therapy, and principles from psychodynamic and other therapeutic disciplines.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been qualified as a Clinical Psychologist (DClin Psychol) for over 15 years but have over twenty-five years of experience of working in mental health across teenagers, adults and older adults. I have also worked with homeless populations (as a project worker and a manager), and for the NHS, councils, schools and for counselling and learning disability charities. My qualifications include a doctorate in clinical psychology, BA (Hons), a post-grad diploma in management and I am currently studying for a Post-Doctoral qualification in Schema Therapy. In addition I have attended many short-term mental health courses.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
