About me

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist with over 15 years’ experience working therapeutically with adults and couples.

I’m warm, thoughtful and curious, with a sense of humour and a fairly unconventional approach to therapy. I don’t believe you need to fit a particular mould to benefit from therapy, and I won’t expect you to present a polished or tidy version of yourself. I offer a space where you can be honest, explore what feels difficult or confusing, and think together about what might help.

In a rapidly changing and often uncertain world, having a solid connection with and understanding of yourself can be one of the most valuable things you can develop. Therapy can offer space to pause, reflect and make sense of your experiences, helping you feel more grounded in who you are and clearer about how you want to live and relate to others.

I offer individual psychotherapy online, with a limited number of in-person appointments in Hastings, East Sussex, and occasional appointments in London. I also work with couples in monogamous, polyamorous and open/ENM relationships.

I work with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma and its longer-term effects, identity and self-esteem, overwhelming emotions, and patterns of behaviour or relationships that can feel difficult to understand or change.

My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, including for trans and non-binary clients. I have particular experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients and adult adoptees, as well as people affected by trauma, sexual violence, domestic abuse and other difficult or unsafe relationships.

My approach is psychodynamic, collaborative and flexible. I’m interested in understanding not only what is happening for you now, but also how your experiences and relationships may have shaped the ways you understand yourself and relate to other people. I’ll take the work seriously, but not necessarily solemnly: there should be room for warmth, wit and the occasional unexpected thought along the way.

I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent adults, including people with ADHD, autism or a combination of both, whether formally diagnosed, self-identifying or exploring whether neurodivergence may help them make sense of their experiences. I offer a non-pathologising space to think about identity, relationships, emotional regulation, masking, burnout, self-esteem and the impact of navigating a world that may not always feel designed with you in mind.

I am also neurodivergent and have a diagnosis of ADHD. This informs my understanding of some of the experiences that can accompany neurodivergence, while my work remains grounded in psychotherapy rather than personal experience alone.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Additional information

Before starting therapy, I would look to arrange an initial consultation. You don’t need to have a clear understanding of what is wrong before starting therapy. We can work together to make sense of what is bringing you to therapy and what you would like to change. This is an opportunity for us both to explore the best way to help you, and whether you feel therapy with me is right for you. This longer session lasts typically between 1.5 - 2 hours and is charged at £90

For once weekly ongoing sessions with individuals I charge £90 per session.
I do offer a limited number of places for those who are unwaged or low waged, please do ask for my availability.
Fees for couples are £120 for a 60 minute session, and £150 for a 90 minute session.
Fees can be paid by bank transfer on either a weekly or monthly basis.

I am on the Private Practice Register which means I am able to work with people who have private health Insurance, this is somewhat dependent on which provider you are with.

Further information

I offer a free initial telephone or online conversation so that we can briefly talk about what is bringing you to therapy, what you are looking for and whether I might be the right therapist for you - with no obligation to book further sessions.

Sessions are usually weekly and last 50 minutes. For ongoing therapy, I generally recommend meeting at the same time each week, as regularity can provide a useful continuity to the work. However, I’m happy to discuss what might work best for you.

I work collaboratively, and I don’t expect you to simply sit back while I interpret what you say. I’ll be interested in your thoughts about the therapy itself, including if something doesn’t feel right or if you disagree with me. I think being able to talk openly about what happens between us is an important part of the work.

For online sessions, I use a secure video platform and will send you the relevant details when we arrange an appointment.

If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, or whether what you’re experiencing is something I can help with, please feel free to get in touch. A brief conversation is often the easiest way to work this out.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

For face to face sessions that take place in London one space is fully wheelchair accessible.
