About me
Do you need someone to talk to?
Help with your general mental health and wellbeing?
Or, Support with a specific issue, problem or difficulty?
If any of these apply to you, then I may be able to help by offering a safe space that is free from judgement and entirely dedicated to you.
My name is Ashley and I am a qualified Counsellor who would love to work with you, and walk alongside you on your journey of therapeutic support. I have helped a number of clients over the years find clarity, closure and acceptance, and feedback from those I have supported includes:
”You have helped me to find the answers to my own questions”.
”Our sessions have made me think in different ways that I wouldn’t have been able to on my own, and it has been really useful to reflect on different parts of my life and how I feel about them”.
”I can’t thank you enough for the change that you have made to our lives”.
”Your support has allowed me to heal and what I have learned will stay with me long after our work is complete”.
”I have noticed the change, not only in the way that I think but also how I feel”.
”Working with you has made such a difference”.
”You have helped me to find myself again”.
I offer both individual and couples / family counselling and can offer different times and durations to suit your needs. I am here to facilitate a safe space in which to support you and your family.
Remote online work and telephone sessions currently available. Please don’t hesitate to make contact and I look forward to hearing from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am BACP registered (The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapists) and accredited by the CPCAB (The Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body). I have a degree in Psychology and have trained in an integrative approach, using modalities which include Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and CBT, which means that by drawing upon different theoretical approaches together, we can find the right approach to support your needs. My passion is delivering person-centred therapeutic counselling to those in need, and if you have taken the time to read this far, then I hope that we can work together.
I have extensive experience supporting individuals to work through difficulties such as loss of identity, motivation and confidence, general low mood, anxiety and depression, family and relationship issues, conflict resolution, mediation and restoration. LGBTQ+, adapting to change, impact of neurodiversity and neurodivergence, diagnosis of mental or physical health issues, anger management, trauma, bereavement and loss, domestic abuse, victim and criminal justice support, recovery, resettlement and rehabilitation. This includes working with both children and adults privately and in the community.
My work is underpinned by the BACP ethical framework to ensure safe and ethical practice, and although people come to counselling for various different reasons, I believe that offering a safe and confidential space, in which you are truly heard, with empathy and trust, can support reflection and increased awareness, and truly help facilitate healing and growth.
"It is astonishing how elements that seem insoluble become soluble when someone listens, how confusions that seem irremediable turn into relatively clear flowing streams when one is heard". (Carl Rogers, 1980)

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I offer an initial 15-minute telephone consultation, which is completely free, to discuss your needs and explore what you hope to achieve through accessing counselling. There is no obligation to book paid sessions following this, but it allows you to get to know me and how I work, while also helping me to assess if I am the right counsellor to support you going forward.
Please don't hesitate to contact me via text message or email, and I will reply to you as soon as possible.
