About me
I am a fully qualified and accredited integrative psychotherapist and counsellor offering short and long-term therapy for a variety of psychological and emotional problems. I offer a safe confidential and completely
non-judgemental environment for you to address and resolve the issues you have been struggling with.
My vocation is helping people regain control of their emotions and their lives. A good counselling relationship is built on trust, confidentiality, honesty, and acceptance. Working with your individual needs and strengths, I can help you remove and resolve your unwanted feelings or behaviours.
I have extensive experience in treating a wide range of issues such as Addictions, Alcohol/Substance abuse, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Sexual issues, Low self-esteem, Anger management and more.
My approach and how can I help?
Being “integrative” quite simply means I am trained and qualified in various forms of counselling and psychotherapy and do not rely on a rigid one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. In my experience, what works with one client for a particular issue may not work with another, so drawing on my varied training and qualifications, I can tailor each treatment to the specific client and their particular issue.
I am aware that no two people are alike, everyone has their own experiences and ways of understanding and seeing the world. You will be able to talk about your problems and feelings in a confidential and dependable safe environment. I am here to listen with empathy, and I aim to help you to deal with any negative thoughts and feelings.
What to expect from counselling?
Counselling can best be described as a process whereby the counsellor and the client set aside time to explore difficulties which may include stressful or emotional feelings for the client. Counselling helps the client see things more clearly or perhaps from a different viewpoint. This can enable the client to focus on feelings, experiences or behaviours and work toward a positive change.
Counselling is not giving advice, does not offer any judgement, does not attempt to sort out the problems of the client. Counselling is a safe confidential environment in which to explore feelings and emotions. I believe that self-acceptance is paramount to good mental health and counselling can help immensely in this area.
