About me
I am an NCPS Accredited Registrant counsellor based in Belfast, offering a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space for adults seeking support with grief, anxiety, emotional distress, low self-esteem, stress, addiction, and life transitions.
My approach is primarily person-centred, while also drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic and CBT-informed ways of working where helpful. I aim to support clients at their own pace, helping them feel heard, understood and more able to make sense of what they are experiencing.
My background includes bereavement support with Cruse, emotional support with Samaritans, trauma-informed community work, mentoring, and employability support. This has shaped my belief that counselling should be respectful, practical, compassionate and grounded in the client’s own lived experience.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice, alongside Level 4 Counselling Skills and Theory and Level 3 Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills training.
I am an Accredited Registrant member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and hold professional indemnity insurance.
My counselling experience includes work with Cruse Bereavement Support, Choose Therapy, and Samaritans. I have supported clients experiencing bereavement, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, emotional distress, low self-worth and major life changes.
Alongside counselling, I have worked in community, mentoring and support roles, including with GEMS NI, Gateway to Choices and RNIB, supporting people facing trauma, social barriers, confidence issues, disability, unemployment, grief and transition.
