About me

I'm Annie an integrative MBACP therapist based in London and St Albans. This means I use a range of both traditional and modern approaches in therapy. I have extensive experience in Law and the media industry as well as in counselling and psychotherapy. My background means I work with many professionals who navigate life's challenges around work and relationships. Sometimes clients have a specific need such as anxiety/stress at work or relationship breakdowns or feel depressed. Sometimes it may be a long standing issue. Or sometimes clients simply just feel something isn't right. It might be feeling overwhelmed or alternatively underwhelmed or flat.

I provide a safe place face to face in a beautiful Edwardian home alternatively I work face to face in London. Many of my clients prefer to see me on zoom both international clients and those that are time short and fine online therapy easier to fit into their time limited office days. Often this safe space can act as an anchor each week which can be very supportive. Sometimes it is difficult to talk to even the closes of friends or family.

My clients find that the work we do together can provide the bridge between where they are now and where they want to be.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Law degree and trained as a Barrister.

I trained in counselling and psychotherapy at The Minster Centre which is one of Europe's leading integrative training institutions. My training spanned over 5 years and is BACP accredited and UKCP registered with a Masters in Integregrative Psychotherapy. Before private practice I worked for Mind with clients with a range of significant mental health issues including; childhood trauma and sexual abuse, bereavement, addiction, anxiety and depression.

My practice includes professionals with challenges including addiction, relationship difficulties ( at home and work), low mood/depression, anxiety or simply just 'not feeling themselves'. Many have been with me for several years and find the space a place where they can focus purely on themselves without the noise of the world tugging at them. It helps them focus and anchor themselves and take charge of themselves as they forge ahead in the world.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
