About me
Dr Anne-Sophie Bammens is a Counselling Psychologist accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and the CEO and Clinical Director of Headstrong Counselling, a UK-wide service providing affordable and accessible psychological support.
She has extensive leadership and clinical experience working with adults presenting with trauma, relationship and attachment difficulties, and anxiety and depression. Anne-Sophie works in a focused way and believes that therapy does not need to be a long or drawn-out process. When therapy is effective, clients often begin to feel its impact relatively early on. She offers one-off, flexible, and ongoing psychological talking therapy sessions, depending on individual needs.
Dr Anne-Sophie is also the Director and Head of Curriculum Development at Headstrong Academy, a training institution delivering advanced diplomas in counselling and specialist training for counselling supervisors. Alongside this, she provides supervision for both trainee and qualified practitioners.
Training, qualifications & experience
She holds a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Psychology from University College London, an MA in Psychological Studies from King’s College London, and a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
