About me

I am an accredited CBT Therapist and EMDR Therapist. I have over 20 years experience of working with adults experiencing problems with anxiety, low mood, depression, anxiety disorders (including OCD, Social Anxiety, Health Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety and Phobias) Acute Stress Reactions, and Trauma/PTSD.

I offer a calm, supportive space, alongside practical, evidenced based therapy to help you understand your difficulties, process past experiences and make meaningful, lasting changes.

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step. You don't have to work things out alone. Using CBT and EMDR, I can help you make sense of what's happening and develop practical solution focused ways to move forward.

How I Can Help
You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in patterns of worry, struggling with low mood, or finding it difficult to move forward after a distressing experience. Perhaps you're constantly overthinking, avoiding situations that make you anxious, feeling exhausted and disconnected from life, or battling intrusive thoughts that won't leave you alone.

Many of the people I work with tell me they feel trapped by their thoughts, emotions or past experiences. They may have tried to cope on their own for months or even years before seeking support.

Therapy can help you to:

Feel calmer and more in control of anxiety and worry
Reduce panic attacks and avoidance
Recover from trauma and PTSD
Manage intrusive thoughts and OCD
Improve confidence and self-esteem
Develop healthier ways of coping with difficult emotions
Reconnect with the things that matter most to you
Feel more like yourself again

I draw on over 20 years of experience working within NHS mental health services and private practice. My approach combines evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, mindfulness and compassion-focused approaches.

I believe therapy should feel collaborative, supportive and tailored to your individual needs. Together we will develop an understanding of what is keeping you stuck and create a practical pathway towards meaningful change.

Many clients tell me they appreciate having a space where they feel genuinely heard, understood and supported without judgement.

What to Expect
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you've never spoken to a therapist before.

I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone call where we can discuss your difficulties, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether I am the right therapist for you.

If we decide to work together, our first session will focus on understanding your experiences, identifying your goals, and developing a shared plan for therapy.

There is no pressure and no obligation to continue after the initial conversation. Finding the right therapist is important, and I encourage clients to choose someone they feel comfortable working with.
