About me

My name is Anna and I am an experienced, BACP accredited counsellor based in Farnborough. I offer a calm, safe, confidential space, separate from your day to day life, where you can talk about anything that concerns you. I am approachable and non-judgemental, whilst also being professional and respectful. I have huge respect for anyone who decides to give counselling a try and always strive to treat my clients as I would wish to be treated myself.

I have many years’ experience working with adults of all ages and am used to supporting people on a short or longer term basis. My counselling approach is integrative, which means that I draw on a number of therapeutic approaches adapted to the needs of those I support. Importantly, I approach clients with warmth and kindness and would describe my approach as thoughtful, creative and holistic.

Initially, I will listen to your story and be alongside you as you talk about your experiences and feelings. Gaining greater awareness and understanding of these, can give you a fresh perspective on the challenges you are facing and new ways of tackling areas in your life where you feel stuck. Together, we can then find ways to help you move forward; whether that be towards more acceptance, greater resilience and confidence, or the capacity to make the changes you wish to make. Counselling can be great way of discovering and developing your internal and external resources so that you feel more able to cope and thrive.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
