About me
A large number of people seek therapy because they feel anxiety about aspects of their world or their personality, that may seem harmless to other people. This anxiety often manifests in narrowing life, as we try to avoid anxiety-provoking thoughts. This is often because we were taught to be afraid of certain inclinations, thoughts or feelings (this will happen to everyone, to a degree - we all impose limits on ourselves). I work with anxiety a lot, and I have seen therapy helping people to feel feelings we were afraid of, and to live richer lives.
I view mental health as capacities, rather than binaries: how able are we to feel safe in the world, how much we can tolerate emotions, and trust ourselves, and how much power we believe to have over our lives. Often, people come because they don't have empathy for the person they used to be, or the person they are now, or because they feel stuck. Therapy can help you live freer.
The relationship with the therapist, according to studies, is one of the most important factors in therapy bringing psychological change. This is one of the reasons why I offer a free introductory session - to discuss what you need, and for you to see if you can feel like you can open up to me. If I'm not the right therapist for you, I'll always try to recommend a colleague for you.
It's a difficult choice in the sea of therapists. I hope you get in touch. I can't wait to meet you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed my Certificate in Therapeutic Skills & Studies at Metanoia Institute, and my PgDip at the University of East London in their Integrative Coaching and Counselling program. I also hold a PgDip from Arden University in Psychology.
My interests in continued professional development are trauma, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFiT), “boarding school syndrome”, and Cyclical Psychodynamics.
I have volunteered bereavement support worker at St Joseph’s Hospice, and with Change Grow Live, a health and social care charity (substance abuse), and HQ Therapy, a low-cost counselling service.
I have an undergrad and masters degree in international relations from Corvinus University of Budapest.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I work on a sliding scale. The first session is to see if it is a good match, and if the therapy I do would be suitable for what you are looking for. If not, I always try to refer a colleague who may be more aligned with what you are looking for.
