About me

I am an HCPC-registered art therapist based in Edinburgh. I am currently working with children and young people across primary schools in East Lothian with Place2Be, and in private practice through the Creative Arts Therapies Space.

I offer individual sessions on a sliding fee scale and offer a free initial consultation to help you make sure this is the right fit for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a therapist, I prioritise creating a space where you feel safe by developing a real and trusting relationship. I offer a non-judgmental, compassionate stance to support you in connecting with your inner world. My practice is adapted to the needs of each particular person at each time; we will develop what your therapy will look like together. You do not need to be ‘good’ at art (if that even exists). The art-making is there as an alternative form of communication for things that are hard to express or that we don’t have words for, and access our intuition and sense of play. My approach is psychodynamically-informed, which means it considers how our past experiences have shaped us.

Before becoming an art therapist, I worked for ten years with vulnerable groups from diverse backgrounds across both Scotland and Greece.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
