About me
I offer in-person therapy in Hackney. In my work I am interested in how we understand ourselves both consciously and unconsciously and how this affects how we feel, relate to others, and behave. I have a lot of experience working with anxiety, depression and issues around identity and relationships.
Working psychodynamically means I am particularly interested in understanding what goes on at a deeper level, and how our early experiences and relationships shape how we feel about ourselves and others throughout our lives. In my work with you, I will help to enable you to understand yourself at a deeper level and to engender meaningful emotionally informed change to live your life more fully.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Psychodynamic Supervision.
As well as working in Private Practice I also work as a Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor within a university counselling service. In the past I worked in secondary care as a psychotherapist in the NHS.
I have experience of working with both young and older adults, as well as with people from a wide variety of ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds. I attend regular supervision and CPD.
I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and therefore am committed to working within their ethical framework. I am experienced at working both short-term and focused or open-ended.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Initially we would meet for a therapeutic consultation in which I would want to find out about you, what is bringing you to seek help, and what you hope for from therapy. In this initial session you would get a chance to experience how it feels to work with me. We would then meet for a follow up consultation to think about ongoing work together. In ongoing therapy, sessions would be at the same time each week. If you would like to arrange a consultation or find out more, please call or email me to arrange a short initial phone conversation. I currently have availability on Monday morning and evening.
