About me
Whether it’s gambling, social media, pornography, compulsive shopping, countless hours spent at work, substance misuse or drinking to cope, all of these share the same root: an unmet need stemming from emotional pain. As adults, this can present as anxiety, depression, impulsive behaviours or low self-esteem. People with ADHD can be more susceptible to addiction issues, and I can offer a safe space to process this.
I can help you get to the heart of the hurt, find your resilience and reconnect with the joy in your life.
I offer a one-to-one, confidential counselling service both online and in-person, using an integrated approach with techniques such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and MI (motivational interviewing) to illicit change.
I understand first-hand how scary it is to reach out for help. But the good news is, you’ve taken the first step. Email or phone me to arrange a free, 15-minute initial consultation.
Training, qualifications & experience
I obtained a 1st Class Honours Degree in Addictions Counselling from The University of Bath. I am also an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (MNCPS Accred). I received a solid training foundation at Clouds House in Wiltshire, where I was on placement for a year. I have worked as Addictions Counsellor at Action on Addiction (now Forward Trust) and Providence Projects in Bournemouth, and as Senior Coordinator for the Amy Winehouse Foundation Resilience Programme. I facilitate interpersonal group therapy for both the clients and their family members. I am proficient at leading relapse prevention workshops and providing 1:1 counselling, having had responsibility for a caseload of clients in both structured day programmes and residential treatment settings. I now have both worldwide and UK-based clients on my private practice caseload.
