About me
Do you struggle to show & understand your feelings? I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for counselling and hypnotherapy to explore any worries or concerns that you have. I work using an integrative approach, meaning that I have a lot of experience in many different types of counselling & I tailor my approach to the individual & your unique needs. I consider you as the whole person & have you at the very centre of all my work. I specialise in working with anxiety, depression and people who have or are relatives of people with learning disabilities.
I have experience of working in social care with people who have learning disabilities and a background in nursing care, with good medical knowledge too. Counselling gives you the time & space you need to explore difficult issues within a strong therapeutic relationship & without fear of judgement with a completely neutral person. I also work for a counselling agency & have had a wide variety of experience there too. I have worked with Chronic Health Conditions & experience of counselling at a Cancer support charity.
I also work with depression, relationship issues, stress and generalised anxiety, grief, abuse, bereavement, anger, low self-esteem, family issues, self-defeating behaviours (such as habits), eating disorders & goal achievement. I use hypnotherapy for relaxation, increasing self-esteem, improving sleep, reducing anxiety and to focus on goal achievement. Mindfulness can also be helpful with anxiety & giving coping mechanisms & grounding techniques for panic attacks.
I am registered & accredited with the National Counselling Society & the National Hypnotherapy Society & abide by their code of ethics. I do regular CPD training to keep up-to-date with the latest research & practice.
I would initially see you to assess your needs for us both to consider whether we can work together which would be at a reduced fee of £25 & then all following sessions would be at £40 for a 55 minute session. I do offer a limited number of concessions. I hope you will allow me to be part of your journey & look forward to hearing from you...
