About me

I'm an integrative therapist with over 18 years of experience, during which time I have trained in multiple approaches allowing me to develop a type of therapy that teaches simple coping strategies.

I have worked extensively with issues such as problems at work, abuse and domestic violence, childhood experiences, relationship problems, bereavement and loss, stress management and confidence building, anger management and feeling embarrassed, frustrated, ashamed, guilty and stuck.

My experience includes working in private practice, the NHS, third sector, corporate companies, universities and charities such as Mind.

Often my clients have come with the burden of carrying something which has become too heavy, or feeling like something doesn’t feel right.

"I had been battling with Depression for more than 20 years. After a previous bad experience with a Counsellor I was very sceptical and nervous to try again. Angie put me at ease quite quickly with her calm and friendly approach. Angie did not judge or stereotype me and didn’t try to confuse me with jargon. Everything Angie said was simple and easy to understand and I was able to make progress quickly. I now feel free for the first time in my life! I recommend Angie very highly as she has made a big difference to my life in only 5 sessions." - Nicola, NHS

With me, you will be listened to and heard, given space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. I have a kind and gentle approach - like having a chat with someone you trust, but also practical, working towards getting to the point so that you can make great progress in a timeframe which works for you.

Reaching out for help is one of the scariest but most courageous, positive actions you can take in order to help yourself.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space. I can help you to increase both your courage to see things as they are and offer you the skills to make meaningful change to support you moving forward either personally and/or professionally.

I offer both brief (up to 6 sessions) and long term (open ended) therapy depending on what you feel your needs are.

Day and evening appointments are available to work around your commitments..

Do you have a question or would you like to book an initial session?

If you have any questions or would like to book an initial appointment to see me please feel free to contact me either by telephone or email.

I will endeavour to respond to you within 24 hours (if not sooner).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Key details

Wheelchair user access info
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
