Integrative Counsellor Dip HIC MBACP

About me

I offer one to one counselling sessions for a range of issues, including relationship and family problems, abuse, anxiety and depression, ASD and ADHD, or just experiencing a general feeling of dissatisfaction with life. Much of my work focuses on clients with low self esteem, and how to gradually find or restore a feeling of inner security and stability, but whatever is troubling you, I offer a warm and non-judgmental space to explore things at your own pace.

My private practice is located in a quiet room overlooking a peaceful valley, just down from the Hillier Garden Centre on the outskirts of Bath. There is free parking (or it's a 15 minute stroll from the bus stop) and there's no stepping out on to a busy street after sessions, just onto a peaceful lane.

The counselling sessions last for 60 minutes and are on a weekly basis. I work in an integrative way, which means I tailor my work to each individual client and draw on my experience in different modalities of therapy.

Firstly, we can have a 15-20 min chat over the phone, or on zoom, to see if I may be a good fit for you. This is free of charge and a good opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have, and to talk a little about what brings you to counselling. We can then discuss together if weekly counselling sessions would be the way forward for you.

I believe every one of us has the potential to bring about change, to heal, to grow, and live a fuller, lighter life. If you think you might like to talk, then send me a message.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
