About me

Hi, I'm Angelica. I'm a Senior Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working within the NHS, and 15 years experience working across the charitable and university sector. I am experienced in both working with adults and young people and specialise in working with anxiety and depression. I prioritise creating a warm, open, compassionate and comfortable space in therapy. I believe that therapy can deepen your understanding of yourself and help you to find ways out of negative cycles. You might seek therapy at a time of change, feeling 'stuck', or just wanting to learn more about yourself. You might also seek therapy when struggling with a specific mental health issue or difficulty that has arisen (or re-arisen) that you want to overcome.

As a Psychologist, I am trained to a doctoral level in a number of different evidence-based approaches to therapy, including CBT, ACT, narrative and psychodynamic. I have worked with a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotion regulation difficulties, relationship difficulties, loss and change, health difficulties, post-natal difficulties and trauma. My main specialism is working with common mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression.

I typically take an integrative approach to therapy and tailor my approach based on the individual needs, goals and preferences of my clients. I will work with you to explore what kind of approach suits you best. I can work with you short or longer term and am experienced at both ways of approaching therapy. I can also work with you in depth using one specific approach if this is what you prefer e.g. a course of CBT or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified Clinical Psychologist and have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Royal Holloway, University of London. During my doctoral training I gained experience working in specialist adult mental health teams, health settings and CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).

I have also obtained specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from King's College London. King's College London offer specialist CBT training for mental health problems such as OCD, depression, PTSD and social anxiety. I have been trained by the leaders in the CBT field and main researchers/practitioners in the UK and globally.

I am able to work in a number of ways therapeutically due to my training. I am happy to discuss in more detail what might work for you in a free 15 minute consultation. Please reach out over email and I would be happy to arrange this with you.

I have worked within the NHS for over 10 years in adult and child/teen community settings. This means I have worked with mental health difficulties such as; depression, anxiety, generalised anxiety, OCD, low self esteem, social anxiety, panic attacks, sleep difficulties, body image, health anxiety, relationship difficulties, and perfectionism. I have also worked in child and adolescent services with the above difficulties, as well as family issues, school problems, identity and adolescent specific problems.

I also have specialist experience working within health psychology settings and am interested in the intersection between mental and physical health. This means I have experience working in adjusting and living well with chronic health conditions.
