About me
Anxiety, Trauma and Life Transitions - Life can feel overwhelming, confusing, or simply too much to carry alone. Sometimes it's a specific event that's knocked you off balance. Sometimes it's harder to name — a low mood that lingers, a sense of unease you can't quite shake, or the quiet feeling that something needs to change. Whatever it is, you don't have to make sense of it on your own.
As a UK-based counsellor with over 30 years' experience, I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and be truly heard — often for the first time in a long while. Together, we'll work through anxiety, trauma, PTSD, relationship and family difficulties, low self-esteem, low confidence, anger, and major life transitions. Whatever has brought you here, our work will be collaborative, respectful, and entirely guided by you — your pace, your goals, your story.
I'm a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere strictly to their ethical framework, so you can trust that your safety, confidentiality and wellbeing are always at the heart of how I work.
You don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out. Whether you're ready to start, or simply curious about whether counselling might help, a first conversation is entirely pressure-free — no commitment, just a chance to see if we're a good fit.
Taking that first step is often the hardest part. Get in touch today to book an appointment or ask any questions — you don't have to do it alone.
Areas of support include: Anxiety · Trauma · PTSD · Relationship and Family Issues · Low Self-Esteem · Low Confidence · Anger Management · Life Transitions
Training, qualifications & experience
I've been a qualified counsellor for over thirty years, and in that time I've learnt that no two people - or two journeys - are quite the same.
My original training was in psychodynamic counselling, an approach that explores how our early experiences quietly shape the way we think, feel and relate to others as adults. It's often surprising how much clarity this can bring - patterns that once felt confusing start to make sense. Alongside this foundation, I continue to undertake regular professional development across a range of therapeutic approaches, so our work together can be shaped around you - your needs, your goals and your pace.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
