About me
Counselling for Change
Life can feel overwhelming at times, and it isn’t always easy to pause and make sense of what’s going on. I offer calm, professional, and non-judgemental counselling for adults who feel ready to slow down, reflect, and create meaningful change.
Sessions are available one-to-one in Bath or online. You will be met with warmth, respect, and genuine care, alongside gentle, thoughtful challenge when it feels helpful. Together, we can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, helping you find a way forward that feels right for you.
I believe that a supportive and accepting therapeutic relationship can help you reconnect with your own inner wisdom and resources.
People often come to counselling when they:
- Feel overwhelmed, flat, or under pressure while managing everyday life
- Experience anxiety, low mood, or self-doubt
- Want a safe, confidential space to feel heard and understood, without judgement or quick fixes
- Find relationships, boundaries, or life direction difficult to navigate in a busy world
How Counselling Works
Counselling offers a regular, confidential space to explore thoughts, feelings, and patterns that can be difficult to face alone. Our work together is collaborative rather than directive. We focus on what is happening in your life now while also making sense of past experiences when they are relevant.
Therapy can be short-term or open-ended, depending on your needs. The process usually begins with an initial session where we explore what has brought you to counselling, followed by ongoing sessions at a pace that feels right for you. We check in regularly to ensure the work is supporting you.
My Approach
I am a person-centred psychotherapist. This means I believe each of us holds an inner capacity for understanding ourselves and finding a healthy way forward, although life’s challenges can sometimes block this. In our sessions, I will not analyse or direct you. Instead, I offer careful listening, understanding, and a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This process can help you make sense of painful events, gain new insight, and develop greater trust in yourself.
Many of our struggles are shaped by past experiences, including difficult or traumatic ones that may leave us feeling disconnected from who we truly are. Therapy provides an opportunity to gently explore these experiences so they no longer define or limit you.
Therapy with Me
People often begin therapy because they want something in their life to change how they feel, how they relate to others, or how they see themselves. My approach is warm, open, and thoughtful, while also offering gentle challenge when helpful to support growth and deeper self-awareness and self-understanding.
As unhelpful beliefs and patterns begin to shift, many people discover a renewed sense of clarity, self-acceptance, and greater possibility. Therapy can be a powerful journey of self-understanding and change, taken one step at a time and at a pace that feels right for you.
Getting Started
If this approach resonates with you, I invite you to get in touch. I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation so we can briefly discuss what you hope to gain from counselling and whether working together feels like a good fit.
I work in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). This includes regular professional supervision and ongoing training to ensure my work remains safe, ethical, and up to date.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a trained Integrative Therapist with a Level 5 qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I offer a calm, grounded and collaborative approach, paying attention not only to what is said but also to what may be harder to put into words. My role is not to “fix” you, but to support you in making sense of your experiences and discovering your own direction.
My work is thoughtful, steady and relational. I am particularly interested in how people understand themselves and their place in the world, and how meaningful change develops over time.
I am qualified to Level 5 in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, registered with the NCPS, and hold a current DBS clearance. My practice is guided by professional ethical standards and supported through regular supervision, ongoing professional development, and professional indemnity insurance, in line with UK legal and professional frameworks.
Working in an integrative psychotherapeutic way, I draw on a range of approaches including Gestalt, Psychosynthesis, Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and CBT modalities.
Before becoming a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I completed a BA (Hons) in Business and spent many years working across a range of industries. My own experiences of navigating different professional environments, challenges and transitions have deepened my understanding of the human experience, which informs and enriches my therapeutic work.
I also have several years of experience working within community-based counselling services across Bath and the surrounding areas, supporting people from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of challenges.
I am fully insured and adhere to both the UK Council for Psychotherapy Code of Ethics and Professional Practice and the NCPS Ethical Framework. This includes regular clinical supervision and a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
