About me
From July I will be offering face to face in Manchester Piccadilly Gardens M1 postcode, on a Monday for those clients that work nearer there, please message to organise booking there, my booking tool has yet to be updated.
I have come to this profession later, choosing to retrain, from a previous successful career in IT Technology, after understanding a life changing experiences in my life journey, this has led me to build a Wellbeing therapy practice based on client understanding.
Wellbeing Through Understanding
At Wellbeing with Therapy, I believe that lasting wellbeing begins with understanding.
Many of the ways we think, feel and respond to life's challenges developed for understandable reasons.
Our early experiences, relationships and environment all help shape the beliefs we hold about ourselves, the way we relate to others and the strategies we use to cope when life becomes difficult.
My role is not to judge those adaptations or tell you how to live your life. Instead, I work alongside you to understand how your unique experiences have shaped your emotional world. Together, we explore these patterns with curiosity, compassion and respect, helping you make sense of why they developed and whether they continue to serve you today.
As understanding grows, so does self-awareness. With greater awareness comes greater choice, and with greater choice comes the opportunity for meaningful and lasting change.
Therapy is not about blaming parents, families or the past. Most people do the best they can with the knowledge, resources and emotional capacity available to them at the time.
Rather than focusing on blame, we focus on understanding — because understanding helps us move forward.
Whether we explore early experiences, attachment, emotional regulation, relationships or other aspects of your life, our work will always be guided by one simple principle:
If I can help you understand yourself more clearly, you can decide what is best for you.
This is the philosophy that sits at the heart of
Wellbeing with Therapy.
Compassion; Understanding; Connection.
I understand and have experienced what it feels like to be overwhelmed or alone facing the overwhelming feelings that life challenges can bring, but it is your experiences, emotions and fears, we will work together with.
I have experience working with anxiety, trauma, overwhelming emotions, relationship issues, low self-esteem and self-worth, addiction, abuse, sexual and substance. Understanding the impact this can have on the individual and their families and friends, I am a member of AMCAMH (The Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health).
I have worked with male, female and transgender clients as well as LGBT+ clients, so I am GSRD compliant, working through relationship issues, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem and sexuality.
Our life is a personal journey, at times we need support during part of this journey. Did you know we have 2000 emotions and 70,000 thoughts a day, so right now, it is OK, not to be OK? There are times you need someone who listens and is there for you, rather than giving you advice, I work with you through options, so you can choose. I work to empower you to work through life's challenges whether it's family, relationships, personal, work-related there are times we all need someone to support and work with to face whatever challenges you are facing.
Perhaps you are finding your relationship is struggling, you cannot talk to each other without one of you becoming angry, or are you at a crossroads in your life and you need someone to listen, work with you taking a look at what your needs are.
You may be trying to work out your sexuality and have no where to discuss learn and understand, I am here for you
Whatever is worrying you there is someone that can listen and work with you, I would like to be that person.
I offer sessions face to face sessions in my Therapy room in Eccles, I also have the opportunity to work in Manchester town centre on certain days. I also can use Zoom and WhatsApp for remote services. I am flexible with hours, days and I do offer a free 20 minute phone or zoom consultation so you can explore if you feel comfortable with me before therapy starts. Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
